Expensive but no more than otherauto tampers. Could be a little heavier so it doesn't slide around the counter but a rubber tamping mat solves that problem.
Detailed Commentary
There is a lot of turnover at most coffee shops which makes it hard to manage an employee's tamping ability. This product solves this problem for the employees and the owner's! I thought it would take up too much counter space, feel flimsy and slow down my line but none of these issues were a problem. I have several traditional tampers and a hand click tamper that seems to break every couple of days. I have since thrown the click tamper away. I am not one to recommend a product unless I feel very strongly about it.
Buying Experience
The guy I talked to on the phone when I called to place my order was one of the owners of the company. He went into great detail about the design and function of the Auto Tamp. He definitely sold me on the product. I am very happy that I purchased an American made product from a small company that really seems to care about their product and customers!
