Detailed Commentary
I have been roasting for a couple of years now. Had some lucky experiences with a couple of poppers but they burned out quickly and could not keep up with my bean demand. Next was IRoast and it had some good batches but heated up quickly and I never thought I could get the kind of results I needed so it went on EBAY after almost a year.
$300 dollars for a one pound roaster - really - are you kidding me???? I decided I am in.
Played and played and mostly used 1 lb roasts as I have many friends who love to get my roasts. Not that happy. Probably went through 15 lbs and tried ever roast and profile including some high dollar Kona coffees.
It was not a problem about degree of roast. I never had any problems getting dark roasts with any weight. I just did not like the flavor.
Then I decided the shorter roast of a 1/2 lb batch might be the key.
I will never go back
This has great flavor and really every bean I have thrown at it has exceeded my expectations.
I roast in the garage so smoke is not an issue but it does certainly cut down on the smoke. If you like coffee smell you could use it in doors.
I use it 3 times a week with great success.
I drink self roasted quality coffee every day and expresso 1-2 times a week. It is all good.
Buying Experience
Roastmasters gave me 8 lbs of beans with a gift certificate for cheaper beans in the future. Free shipping and an extra roasting cage. Wow.
Emailed Sweet Marias just to let them have a chance of coming close and they were not interested. So know roastmasters gets some of my bean business and all is good.
