Pricey, but adds significantly to the enjoyment of a fine cup of espresso.
Positive Product Points
Nice sleak cup and very easy to drink from with no spillage. Great handle. Lots of designs. It's a cup.
Negative Product Points
Mmmmm ahhhhh errrrr. What can I say.... It's a cup. However, one negative thing is unlike (what I call) the fat rounded cups these Illy cups are prone to breakage. They have a thinner rim than most espresso bar cups. I suppose it adds to the elegance of the cup, but I sometimes prefer a thick rim cup. The thickness holds the heat a little better too.
Detailed Commentary
Great cup. Personally I prefer the plain old white Illy cups with the red Illy logo on the side. These designer cups they do are a little too much to look at when trying to enjoy a good cup of coffee. Preesh the solids. The handle is the best part. They must have that little circle hand patented or something because Illy is the only company I've seen using it and I have a large cup collection. Anyway, the handle is a just the right size circle and even though it is slipper porcelin you can still get a good grip on it.
Buying Experience
I live in Italy. Lucky I know. However, you can not buy the classic white Illy logo cups here and they will not ship them to you. I had to have someone in the states buy a set for me on line and mail them. Online and auction sites and that rare Illy bar in the states are the only places you can get them.
