I like this scale, it has a really well-thought-out design and doesn't cost very much
Positive Product Points
Very innovative small scale with a removable cover that you can use as a tray. It has a neat stainless steel tray with a raised lip around the outside so beans simply don't roll off (like they did with my other scales). Really big backlit LCD display, soft rubber keys, tare function which comes in handy, counting feature, reads in I think 8 modes and does a whole bunch of other neat stuff. Fits in a drawer next to my knives without any fuss
Negative Product Points
Pocket scales are always small, but at least this one had some features that made it behave like a much bigger scale.
Detailed Commentary
I bought this scale online after my Sohnle died (tried replacing batteries but no luck, only had a 1 year warranty). It has a really big LCD display with a neat looking red backlight. I don't understand all of the features because this scale is a real doozy. It reads in like 8 modes which is way more then I needed. The stuff I loved was the stainless steel tray with the raised ip around it. Then, if anything did fall off the tray it has this sort of catch pan built into the scale so still nothing falls off or gets stuck under the tray like I read about the Blade scale doing at www.scalemagazine.com.
It's very precise and has a counting feature which doesn't come in handy for individual shots of coffee but did help a lot with keeping my recipes perfect (low carb Apple strudle coffee cake anyone?).
Not much else to say except I like this one better then my last scale :)
Buying Experience
Very easy. First I shopped eBay but I was too scared to buy there so I searched online for digital scales and ended up at www.oldwillknott.com. Cute site, bought the scale and it was here 3 days later.
