Detailed Commentary
I think it is a good roaster to buy to learn about roasting. You can easily hear the cracks 1st and 2nd. And you can see the progress and associate it where you are in the roast cycle. If you buy it do this one thing as you gain experience. Close your eyes and smell , listen, to determine where you are in the roast cycle, and in no time at all you will be producing repeatable roast. I did make one modification by adding a thermomerter. It helped me to be a little more precise in being able to repeat a roast. Another thing keep records. Different beans roast at a different profile. The three most important things to repeating a roast is !st. keeping records. 2nd. keeping records, and last but not least, keeping records.
