Positive Product Points

nice looking, dishwasher safe, not too hard to clean, sturdy, quiet. Second only to the super-expensive Reg in appearance.

Negative Product Points

too small for my 58 mm pf,  grinds make it to the floor, doesn't come in purple although choice of 6 colors

Detailed Commentary

Bought from their website and I found it not usable with my Silvia, the area is too small and the puck would break and fall out in part. I brought it to my office to use with my Olympia cremina which has a 49 mm pf and with this I am very pleased. The puck is small enough that I have no problem. Wouldn't buy it for a larger pf common on most machines.  The rod is solid and doesn't come loose nor wear out like the other knockbox, the Espressoparts square stainless steel which this was supposed to replace.

Buying Experience

very easy, on line. Fast delivery and no hassels with customs, no trip to the p.o.

Three Month Followup

After one year on daily use, the Grindenstein is like new without evidence of wear on the crossbar or its connection to the body. There is no discoloration in the body. It is being used with the Silvia and I frequently have to clean grinds from the countertop even though I am very careful to knock gently and not overfill the box.

One Year Followup

After one year on daily use, the Grindenstein is like new without evidence of wear on the crossbar or its connection to the body. There is no discoloration in the body. It is being used with the Silvia and I frequently have to clean grinds from the countertop even though I am very careful to knock gently and not overfill the box.
Two years later, with a new Vetrano and a large portafilter, I am very happy with its functionality. Whatever problems I previously had with the Sylvia are gone. No spillage. Still no wear or tear and it is like new.
