I used this machine for over a year. Last month, I roasted a batch of beans in a basement ventilated room. Once the roast was finished, I hit the eject button and the beans discharged into the cooling tray. I closed the room door and left. About 10 minutes later, there was a noise like a tree falling. The room was on fire. The fire damage was confined to the room containing the roaster, but smoke damage occured throughout the basement. The roaster had been connected to a voltage regulator recommended by Sweet Marias for this purpose.
I surmise that the roaster heating grid failed to turn off after the eject button was pushed and the beans emptied into the tray. At least we were insured against fire.
