Consistently good roast. Powerful exhaust fan works excellent when roaster is placed under my stove vent hood.
Negative Product Points
Programming is a brain teaser. Program is erased when power cord is disconnected. Very noisy operation. Chaff collector plastic parts have broken three times in 12 months. A slide catch broke off the top screen part, the chaff ring cracked twice. Four pieces fell off the bottom of the ring the last time. It appears that the plastic can't take the heat. (I use a dark roast program.)
Had problems with the chaff collector coming off during roast. Rubber gasket refused to stay in place after 4 months use. Rubber guide tab broke off after 10 months. Watch out for the sharp edges!
Detailed Commentary
Compared to Fresh Roast's A+ customer service, iRoast has terrible, terrible customer service. Incredibly slow response. The first chaff collector replacement was free. I paid shipping. It took almost 2 months from first contact for the parts to arrive. Customer service took 3 weeks to answer my last email about the recent second collector break. Email from their CS rep wanted to know if the collector broke by accident or if I DID IT ON PURPOSE. That email gave new definition to arrogance. At this writing my roaster warranty has expired.
