A great way to get into programmable home roasting.
Positive Product Points
Small footprint. Easy to use. Almost smoke free.
Negative Product Points
Noisy. Small batch size and long wait between multiple batches.
Detailed Commentary
I made the leap to home roasting and love it. It's easy and rewarding. I bought some El Salvador and Brazilian green beans on Ebay and then bought the iRoast2. I didn't use the two preset profiles after reading other profiles on here. I programmed in 2 profiles of my own and pretty much use them all the time. I roast three 130g batches a week and this handles my coffee use unless i give beans away or have lots of company. I roast two batches to 2nd crack until oily and and mix with one batch done to a lighter roast. I've been getting great espresso and drip coffee. I roast indoors and my wife doesn't mind the smell. There is very little smoke, but a definate odor. My smoke detector emits the odd beep, but has never gone off. My biggest complaint is that anyone who tries my home roasted beans wants to take some home. The size of this roaster makes it hard to roast and give much away, but it suits my needs very well.
