Detailed Commentary

This is, quite simply, a great knock box. It looks good, and it's superbly engineered. The rim, which is releived so that you don't hit your hand, is additionally protected by a soft removable rubber piece, which dips down to capture the bar itself. The bar is a rubber-covered wood, and doesn't seem to be marking from repeated hits by a commercial-weight 58 mm portafilter. It has a rubber bottom to prevent sliding on the countertop, and all the rubber is easily removed so the metal portion can be washed. The satin finish on the metal may not be to everyone's taste, but I find it attractive, in an understated way. A picture may be seen at <http://www.sunbeam.com.au/products/product_details.cfm?rec_id=342&sec_id=21>.

I'd gotten used to having to rebuild my previous knock box on a monthly basis, but I'm absolutely certain I can get used to not doing it! I've never given a product perfect marks here before, and will likely not do it in the future, but this one is great.

Buying Experience

I had to beg my Australian relatives, which came with its own costs. Your experience may not match.
