Detailed Commentary

Most of the people in my home drink instant coffee, as well as tea and hot chocolate.  I saw this in a second hand store for $5.00 and decided to buy it and give it a try.

Its small and light and can easily be moved around, it will fit in nearly anyplace.

It holds 16 oz of water, which it will heat in 90 seconds.  Electrical useage is rated at 1450 watts.  I measured the temperature of the water in the upper chamber with an instant read meat thermometer (analog readout) and it was about 205 degrees or so, hard to say precisely.  I looked in the chamber as the water was heating and it was boiling.  The waater was hot when it dispensed from the machine.

You need to provide your own cup and a very tall mug wont fit.  Any standard coffee cup will be fine.  Push down a lever and the water drains into the cup.  The water will cool quickly once drained from the upper chamber.  Probably wont stay hot too long if left in the upper chamber.

Basically I am happy with it.  I dont really like the taste of water heated in a microwave.  It is also more convenient and can be moved.  Would work well in a dorm room, an office or workspace, or anyplace where you have access to water.

Commonly available on Amazon for $18 or so new.

This is probably something you dont really need but might be nice to have if you can find it at a good price.  In some situations it would be of excellent service.

Buying Experience

Bought it at a local resale store.
