Positive Product Points

Beautiful rosewood handle.  Nice turned stainless steel tamper.  Just right weightiness and feel.  Seems to belong there next to my new Sylvia espresso macnine.

Negative Product Points

Ever try to explain 40 bucks for a tamper to an incredulous spouse?

Detailed Commentary

The "tamper" that came with my Sylvia is basically useless.  Too small, cheap plastic.  (I guess they had to cut a few corners to sell that marvelous machine at a reasonable price.  Better the tamper than some internal part.) Im convinced that a good tamper is an important tool for use in the process of producing great espresso, and the Reg Barber fits the bill functionally, and its beautiful as well.  When using a fine manual pump type machine, consistant tamps are all important, and this tamper helps to achieve that consistancy.
