Bottom Line: Great product that delivers in quality and thermal capability.
Positive Product Points

Air-pot/press pump type dispenser, large 2.2L capacity for >12cups, glass lined, excellent thermal retention, 360 degree swivel base and easy to use.   But the most positive (for me) was the "Brew Thru" pour-over, #6 filter cone capability.  That's why I picked this product among other alternatives.

Negative Product Points

Polished stainless steel shows finger prints quite easily (but I knew that).  It's fairly tall, so it may not fit under some kitchen faucets for cleaning.

Detailed Commentary

I was looking for quality and slightly greater than 1.5L capacity...this product is the 2.2L version.  Most reviews of Zojirushi carafes were excellent and I agree after using the product for a couple months.  This thermal Air-pot holds the temperature very well and the coffee is still quite warm even after 24 hours.  It stays hot for plenty of hours.   I haven't measured it, but so far there's been no complaints from anyone about this carafe.  My method is too fill the carafe with hot water, let it pre-heat, dump the hot water and then fill with coffee.  I also have an elderly mother-in-law who lives with us and it's much easier for her to press the large pump button than lifting a carafe to pour her coffee.

Having used a number of electric drip-machines over many years, one thing is for certain...most of them allow too much time for water-to-coffee contact and produce coffee that has a "bite".  The way to eliminate that problem is to use a pour-over filter similar to a Melitta style process.  This Zojirushi Air-pot accepts the #6 plastic filter cone (sold by Sweet Marias) that allows this process.  I was concerned that the lid on the Air-pot would be in the way when tilted back and open.  It does not interfere and allows plenty of room for the plastic filter-cone.

The Air-pot swivels 360 degrees on a built-in base which makes it even easier to use.  The pump works flawlessly via a press button on the top that's large enough for easy use.  If you don't care for finger-print marks, I'd recommend the "brushed stainless" or "silver painted" version of this pot which are also available.

I prefer a glass-lined carafe when it comes to cleaning (which is what Zojirushi uses with this product) .  Maybe it's just my experience, but cleaning a stainless steel lined thermal carafe is no picnic.  I've spent a lot of time an elbow-grease cleaning the stainless-steel lined carafe that I have and glass is way easier to clean.  Just a few squirts of cleaner, some hot water and a glass-lined pot is sparkling clear.  This product (with the dispenser-lid removed) is 12 1/4" from bottom to top.  That's the clearance you'll need to get it fully under your kitchen faucet.  I have to slightly angle it to get it under my faucet, but it works OK.  Of course you could use the spray attachment as an alternative for filling/cleaning.

This Air-pot is highly recommended and a real joy to use.

Buying Experience

I searched the net and found a good price on this product at dynadirect.com.  It took sev eral days for the order to process which gave me the impression that they were sourcing it (which is typical of many online resellers).  I received a confirmation email, the product arrived as advertised and I have no complaint with the purchase experience.  This was my sole buying expereince with dynadirect.com, but I'd checked them at Resellerratings.com and they looked ok at the time.
