Gaggia TT, you stole my heart, it was a whirlwind romance, but I woke up 9 1/2 weeks later to a broken heart. I must bid "CIAO"
Positive Product Points
Good looking, easy to use, turntable on bottom of unit is nice to help get access to the water tank, great crema.
Negative Product Points
Deesn't like oily beans, it often signals "no beans" when in fact it needs the beans manually tamped down, probably due to the "lawyer umbrella" in the hopper. Rather flimsy plastic parts, particularily on the main door and steam wand flap. Poor user manual layout requiring flipping back and forth between the images at the front and your particular language section, It is rather large. The steam wand must be cleaned of milk after each use. Water level indicator in the drip tray doesn't pop up until the tray is too full to remove without spilling water everywhere. Machine indicates "dregdrawer full" often when it is not. This is probably because it calculates discarded pucks based on pulls, but if you have the machine turned off and empty the drawer, it doesn't know better. The manual should point this out. It should also point out that the brewunit must be in a particular latched position when reinserted to operate correctly, this can be shifted easily when handeling when cleaning.
Detailed Commentary
LOVED the coffee that this unit produced until about week eight, when it started leaking water/steam profusely inside the unit, despite meticulous daily/weekly cleaning on my part. On a VERY expensive unit this should not be the case after only about 250 pulls. Could be a fluke, but I see others have had leak issues with this model also, so rather than have it repaired, I opted to return it for a refund. Decided to take the money and buy a Jura instead. Only problem is that I am having serious Expresso Jones while waiting fot the Jura to arrive.....
Buying Experience
Superb, got a great price, and when I returned it there was no hassle at all. One of the reasons I bought from Bed Bath & Beyond.
