It is hard to justify the cost of our La Marzocco GS3 after setting up the Duetto II as a backup machine.
Positive Product Points
Using a lever machine is new for our experience, but we find the double espresso shots very consistent - 25 to 29 seconds for a 2 oz draw. The quality of the micro foam using the no-burn wand is very good. This machine is used with the built in water tank and filling is an easy task with a automatic shut off valve when the tank is low. Pre-setup before delivery from Chris' Coffee the machine gives sweet double espressos from the beginning. The Duetto II makes an average barista an outstanding barista, for the machine is very forgiving in operation.

Detailed Commentary
The Izzo Alex Duetto II is our backup machine. Our plumbed in machine is an early La Marzocco GS3 and it required lots of upgrading and changing of parts which left us without espresso and cappuccino for weeks at a time. We are surprised that the Duetto II is more forgiving making consistent double shots of espresso without channeling than the La Marzocco. The only differences I find between the two machines are the Duetto II is not plumbed in and uses a manual lever where as the La Marzocco has a built in master switch with the time of day off/on timer, an electronic volume/shot timer and cost lots more to buy and install.
Buying Experience
Bought from Chris Coffee. When buying coffee and coffee/espresso equipment I will not buy from anyone else. Their service is outstanding and they make the equipment right for installation before it is delivered. I use their Black Pearl Medium roast coffee exclusively.
