Positive Product Points

The machine is durable, beautiful, high quality, excellent at producing great espresso and versatile.

Negative Product Points

I wish the reservoir was bigger.  With two boilers, it can't be much larger, but there seems to be a little room to increase the size vertically.

Detailed Commentary

The quality of the espresso is excellent.  I moved up to this from an Isomac Venus and don't regret anything about the decision.  Shots are almost always good and can be pulled repeatedly without any delay.  The machine is gorgeous with clean lines and parts that fit together with minimal gaps.  The craftsmanship and attention to detail is excellent.  I never really had any problems with the design of the Venus, but the Duetto is much more elegant.  Internally, pipes and wires are routed cleanly.

One of the main complaints with the Venus was the inability to steam and brew at the same time.  This isn't a problem with the Duetto.  Obviously, the PID is a great option for accuracy and consistency.  I've used other Hx machines and am left wondering about my temperature.  I know this isn't that big an issue (if at all), but I really enjoy knowing that the temperature is where I want it without having to perform a cooling flush.

Steam quality is excellent and abundant, though we aren't huge milk drinkers.  I haven't decided if I prefer the stock 2 hole tip, the Isomac version (with adapter) or the 4 hole version that ships with the machine.

I love the versatility:
-Either 15A or 20A.  I haven't noticed any real difference between the two for the way that we use it.  I'm sure the heat-up time is less at 20A, but ours is set up on a timer, so it's fully heated by the time we're ready for it.
-Easily adjustable pump pressure.
-Easily adjustable temperatures for both boilers.
-Can shut down steam boiler independently if you're only brewing espresso.
-Can use either the reservoir or plumb-in the unit.

We've had no problems with the unit and expect that it will last a long time.  It's also comforting to know that Chris Coffee really stands behind their products and works with customers to ensure that they're satisfied.  I've consulted with them on water hardness and line pressure, and they've been able to address my concerns completely.

Buying Experience

Working with Chris Coffee to determine which machine to go with was a pleasure.  They entertained numerous calls and a lot of questions.  The buying experience was easy and quick, and they were willing to accommodate all of my requests.  Service after the sale hasn't been much of an issue, but the few questions I have had were answered quickly and completely.  I'll definitely consider them for all future purchases.
