Detailed Commentary
I've owned this machine for over a year and couldn't be happier. My main complaint is due to the fact that when I needed a bit of service my local options were terrible. LaMarzocco USA has a list of local support but I found the people on it to be worthless for me (Cincinnati area, not 1 returned phone call). I ended up taking the machine to Indianapolis where I found friendly and competent service....well worth the 300 mile round trip (twice).
The ridged basket is a pain initially (trying to use what I'd accumulated previously) but... tried smooth sided and the ridged made better espresso. Ended up getting a smaller tamper and that was it. The more time you spend dialing in the machine the better it performs. Keep records of what you are doing and it will reward you. Once you find your preferred settings it will repeat consistently. I consume 6-8 doubles a day and everyone is the same.
