Bottom Line:
Considering what i paid for this machine, i think it is a GREAT machine! and makes great coffee!
Positive Product Points
This machine had already run a good few marathons when i got it, (approx date of Manufacture 1987) but after a good service from a local coffee dude, this machine has been runny very well. very good extractions, good pressure and steam. Solid built, but also easy access should we need to repair anything!
Negative Product Points
Pump was a little loud to start with, but after service was fine, and is prone to lime scale build up, but with a good filter connected, should eliminate problem. After the first couple of shots the pressure can die a little, but if you are aware of this, you just need to run a bit of water and steam out first, causing no worries at all.
Detailed Commentary
I have found this machine to be a very good machine at home!! I love it, it is on the older side of things now, but with regular service and seals change this beaut is going to be a fixture in my home for a while yet... needs to be plumbed in. i do like the extractions that come out of this machine, i like it alot. The steam pressure can die a little bit on first uses, but i run a bit of steam out first and seems to stop the problem.:)
Very well built machine, i have carted it all over the place to do birthdays etc for friends, and doesnt skip a beat!
And best of all the coffee tastes great!
just run it thru a filter, as it has been prone to lime/scale build up! no worries since using a filter, which i probably should have anyway! :)
Buying Experience
I bought this from a second hand shop in Levin, New Zealand. The gentleman there couldnt tell me much about it, and looked pretty rough, but at the end of the day, i think it was a great buy! :)
