If you're into excellent & repeatable cups of coffee...the VIVALDI II is the perfect machine
Positive Product Points
20 Amp heats much quicker than expected; Can easily draw espresso and froth milk simultaneously without water temperature issues; boiler reaction time (draw-to-draw) is imperceptible; Cleaning is easy; excellent construction...a lot packed into a small package!
Negative Product Points
Factory steam wand is too short... Came with the manometer bent, had to remove the front cover and bend back into place...trivial to fix, but frustrating.
The real problem is...I can only afford ONE!
Detailed Commentary
What a machine...
If I were considering a VIVALDI II, I'd go 20Amp AND for the additional cost, get the water filtration and softening systems (what a difference). Set-up was straightforward, but the user guide was lacking (Italian-to-English translation?). However, everything that you really need to know about the set-up and operation of the LaSpeciale, VIVALDI II can be found on-line. The VIVALDI II allows the owner to easily set both single & double draw amounts and the water temperature can be easily set to respond to individual needs.
If I have one criticism of the VIVALDI II it is the short frothing wand (by high-end espresso machine standards). However, an "extension" wand is now available as an accessory...this truly completes this incredible macine.
Buying Experience
Dealing with the Chris' Coffee staff was EXCELLENT...they are everything that their web site says. Clearly, I came first, which is VERY rare these days!
