Detailed Commentary

I was a bit concerned that replacing my 5 yr old Livia with the AP would be a lateral move, rather than an upgrade.  I have honestly been surprised with the differences between the two.  To be sure, the Livia is a fine machine and I pulled many good shots from it.  It is also difficult to learn, finicky, and I can't say that I was ever confident that my next shot would be what I hoped.  I find the AP far easier to get consistently excellent shots from, and is also easier to clean.  Unlike the Livia, it also gives you a low water warning, and will not cut you off mid shot (can't tell you how many times the Livia did that to me!).  Of course, there is a learning curve (both for shots and steaming), but I am now producing better shots than I ever did on the Livia, and doing so pretty much every time.

Buying Experience

ChrisCoffee is a great operation.  Knowledgeable people on the phone, quick shipment, etc.
