Bottom Line: one of the best looking machines out there. works great. it does have a 3 way solenoid by the way. clean up is simple.
Positive Product Points

Looks great, works great, idiot proof semi automatic. price paid on ebay. did i mention it looks great.

Negative Product Points

hard to open warmer cover when it is under a countertop. not much to say against it so far

Detailed Commentary

first real espresso machine i have bought. looked at saeco, gaggia, breville.bodum, wanted saeco automatic (refurbished) from ebay seller but it seems he is not allowed to ship saeco to canada(bummer).  I really wanted an auto machine, you pour in coffee beans press a button and voila espresso or cappucino that tastes the same shot after shot.
read all the reviews i could find on these machines, but came to the conclusion that the better machines at around $500.00 are pretty much the same. you can't go wrong with either one. searched on ebay and came accross sabbashop, located in canada who sells bodum granos machines either brand new in the box or demos. I opted for a brand new one, won the bid and got at home in 5 days at a cost of $275.00 us including shipping and taxes. have made a few esspresso (crema is great and have already made a few dozen cappucinos. they are as good and better then store bought. practiced froathing and believe me it makes excellent micro bubbles after a bit of practice. i do not plan on becoming a pro at espresso so i have ordered illy pods, less clean up and more consistent shots

Buying Experience

sabbashop ebay ,excellent, recommended . bid on black machine but received stainless which is even better looking
