Looks great, built like a tank, love the pressure gauge, has separate wands for hot water & steam, matches my other Breville products.
Negative Product Points
Takes up a lot of space, constantly have to wipe down espresso splashes, no backlighting on water reservoir.
Detailed Commentary
I've owned the Breville 800ESXL for over 3 years & have loved it! After it quit working (I just got it repaired), my wife purchased this machine for me as a wedding gift. Although its similar to the 800ESXL it has some extra features which made me really fall in love with it. This machine has got separate wands for hot water & steam which is a nice added feature. The added feature that I love the most is the pressure gauge. The pressure gauge really helps to determine on whether or not your grind was fine enough or tamped hard enough. Although I have just been holding down the button for as long as I want to create my shot, this machine has a a auto button for a single shot & another button for a double shot. These added features really take this machine over the top in comparison to the 800ESXL.
On my previous machine, I almost instantly purchased an unpressurized basket in order to create a better shot. But on this machine, I got a perfect shot by just using the pressurized baskets that came with the machine. This machine makes great espresso & very easily.
I'm selling my old 800ESXL as the BEST-820ESXL has everything that I need.
Buying Experience
My wife bought it for me as a gift. She had no concerns with the vendor - Costco.
Three Month Followup
This machine is amazing. Using the dual-wall filter with a very fine espresso grind (I modified my Breville Burr Grinder), produces a fantastic shot of espresso.
