When it works, it's great but after a year, you'll end up at Starbucks.
Positive Product Points
It's pretty. It's easy to use. It makes quality coffee when it works.
Negative Product Points
It's overpriced. Upkeep & maintenance is expensive. Breville Customer Service is nonexistent. A nightmare to get fixed.
Detailed Commentary
After it wore out, my husband ordered a new steam ring for our Breville. Upon receipt, he tried to install it, to no avail. He called Breville and their agent told us to bring it to CROSS BAY APPLIANCE SERVICE INC. in Howard Beach, NY, a 1 1/2hour commute from our home in Manhattan. We brought it there where we were told to leave it and they would keep us posted. Weeks went by, they never called...so we did. Each time we called to check the status, the guys at Cross Bay were impatient, rude, uninformed. They even hung up on me! I called Breville to file a complaint and they said they'd speak with Cross Bay & follow-up with me. They never did either! In fact, nobody in their offices contacted us to follow up. We finally received our machine via UPS: wet, scratched and banged-up with the total bill of $84.92 for a steam ring install!!!!! After unloading the machine, wiping it off putting the parts together and plugging it in, it doesn't work! We called Breville, emailed them, but no response. So far we've spent over $600 and wasted 3 months ordering Starbucks...so tack on another $500 and we're out $1100! Nice, huh?
Buying Experience
Williams Sonoma didn't know anything about the machine. We did our own research and found good reviews...I wish we would have dug deeper to find out about repairs.
