The Briel Lido is an inexpensive "starter" espresso machine, featuring a pump, thermoblock, and a froth aider.

Bottom Line: If you have no other options, this can make espresso at home. Though, I'd rather drink from a french press or a cheap coffee maker than drink the Briel's espresso.

Bottom Line: I hold the ES-15 Lido in the same contempt that you would a compact sedan. Yes, it does it's job. Yes, it's reliable and efficient. But, it will never be a Porsche.

Bottom Line: Sometimes the best shot is the first one for a product, and R&D should leave well enough alone. Pump machine with good bloodlines, but needs TLC to brew to its best.
