Good, solid machine for heavy milked or chocolate drinks, at a very low price..
Positive Product Points
Very, very cheap to buy (on eBay they go for $14USD).
The first "cup" tastes much better then any other after it.
Frothing is not bad for a steam machine, if it's done right >:)
This machine has taken my abuse for a year and is still working.
Negative Product Points
You must fill it up with water till it explodes for a decent amount of steam.
It eats-up a lot of grinds.
Not enough room under the filter for tall cups (more than 3")
Frothing attachment gets dirty real fast.
Detailed Commentary
I got this machine FREE from Zellers (Club Z points), apparently this model costs about
$99.00 CDN at the most I have seen. Second Cup Mochaccinos are very addictive and I decided to try it out. Well with one whole year gone by, I finally figured out their recipe and techniques (a good replacement Chocolate sauce is Nesquick concentrate, the kind in a bottle, ( remember that...). I personally recommend that you (lightly) tamp your grinds before using, if not, it just tastes like water. Another tip for this machine is that, fresh whole beans through a burr grinder on a high setting with the dial on "Strong", will produce Espresso as good as this thing can make. Not very much Creama, but I only make Lattes and Mochas with it anyway.
