Easy to use, solid construction and --most importantly-- quality in the cup. In the single boiler category this is a great option.
Negative Product Points
Steaming ability could be better but using the trick of starting the steam prior to the boiler reaching full steam temp works wonders.
Detailed Commentary
I have loved using this machine. It is really easy to pull consistently good shots with ease. A little time to master and you can really tweak your results to tailor the results to your taste. Compact size and footprint will keep the kitchen in fine working order. The portafilter is heavy and solid and holds heat really well. The saturated group head is a plus. I added the silvia steam wand...much better than the stock wand. $25 and 5 minutes of time. Very easy.
There is also a google group dedicated to this machine (or at least Gaggia in general) and this is an excellent resource as well. People often compare this machine to the Silvia. The comparisons are obvious. I think they are both solid machines. The Classic costs about 50% less though. They both have a loyal following and a history of solid performance though.
