I would definitely recommend thi machine. The espresso it makes is just perfect.
Positive Product Points
Makes excellent espresso. I can`t believe it can actually produce more crema than with the one I drink in Starbucks. Coffee has very saturated and completed taste. Looks very nice in the kitchen Easy to use, so easy you can almost forget it needs cleaning sometimes. Good steam. Not a capuchino man, but tried it several times and it was same as in the cafe. Solid build
Negative Product Points
So far only one: it is a bit unstable considering the fact that it only has 4 pillars to stand on. Once you get used to it its not that much of a problem.
Detailed Commentary
The grinder needs to be properly adjusted so the best espresso can come out of the Paros. I figured out that it doesn`t need to be too fine, because it blocks the water in the filter and the espresso produced can wake a dead man. Oaaa !!! Just experiment with it on various settings until you achieve your best results. Also looks like different types of coffee need different level of grind to get the best results, but thats normally one ot two notches left or right on the grinder adjustment mechanism. The grinder can actually be further adjusted by opening the top metal hood unscrewing the 2 srews inside the beans container, then rotate the white plastic ring in the desired direction and assemble the whole thing back. NOTE: BE very careful not to make the burrs to tight. Apart from having your coffee come out as fine as flour, you may also damage the electric motor!!!
I leave the machine switched on during the day , which guarantees constant temperature and (not surprisingly !!!) affects the quality of the coffee. If it was off and you switch it on and make espresso straight away when all parts are still cold, the result is just not the same. I even keep the porta-filter attached to the machine so to keep it hot just before the grinding and brewing. I recommend that you wait at least 5-10 min after switching the Paros ON, before making the shot.
