Great machine. Too bad they do not support it any longer.
Positive Product Points
This was our first "dive" into more expensive espresso machines and it was a very positive experience until the unit began experiencing problems after about a year and a half. We would purchase one again but they are no longer available in Canada and we are unable to get our unit repaired. The company agreed to give us our money back
Negative Product Points
The unit developed an internal leak and water condenses inside the two dials making reading next to impossible. Water comes out between the two halves of the machine (top and bottom half). The on/off switch and espresso switch act up occasionally. The milk foamer/steamer leaks almost constantly and some water/steam comes out of the espresso, even after the switch is turned off. The O-ring on the foaming arm broke and I had to replace it with one from the plumbing shop and it was not quite the same.
Detailed Commentary
In spite of the above issues, we loved our machine and would be happy to have its deficiencies repaired but will be forced to settle for a new machine. The coffee is richly flavoured. Machine is nicely styled. We paired this with the KitchenAid grinder which was a good choice. The espresso was always hot and rich. It took a little practice to get the correct grind but once that was done, voila. Machine is rugged yet attractive and everyone commented on its appearance. My wife and I could brew 2 cappuccinos without hesitation.
Buying Experience
Since KitchenAid does not carry parts, they immediately offered to refund our purchase price.
