Detailed Commentary
This was my first espresso machine. I wasn't sure if I'd be using it all the time, so I decided to take the cheap route. Its not a bad machine for the first time buyer, if you'll only be pulling one shot at a time. Krups only gives you a single portafilter basket, and as far as I know, a double shot basket doesn't exist for this model. The machine supposedly produces 8 bars of pressure, however, that's questionable. Try to extract a shot in under 28 seconds... forget it. It take me about 40 seconds. With just the right grind, it will produce a good crema. The steam wand is too short, however a turkish brew pot works just fine for frothing the milk, forget using a proper frothing pitcher.
Buying Experience
Last box on the shelf at Linens N' Things in Leaside, Toronto. Staff was accomodating, considering she had to climb a 10 foot ladder to get it.
