Cheap POS good for 2 years, if you live near a service center.
Positive Product Points
A good entry level pump machine, got me off of steam blasters forever.
Negative Product Points
Bad engineering: electric switches would burn out every 11 months. I went thru 3 of them before the pump gave out and would only hum.
Detailed Commentary
Lifespan is going to be 2 years, and I took it back 2 times while in the first year of warranty to replace the switches, which were too lightweight to support the hi-amps required. The water pump gave out, and would only hum after just under 3 years.
If I had it all over again, I'd spend a bit more on something that's worth repairing. I'm looking at the "Saceo Classico" for $175, the "Gaggia Classico" for about $300, and dreaming that santa will give me a "Rancilio Silvia" ($420), but caffiene jones will need to be asslauged first.'
Buying a Krups Gusto is like buying a Chevy Chevette, a Ford Pinto, or a AMC Gremlin. Its light on the wallet, light on quality, but at least doesn't explode when you get rear ended ;)
Buying Experience
Fine. I gave them my credit card, they handed me the plastic expresso maker.
