Great easy compact machine for the amature lover of coffee.
Positive Product Points
Dead easy to use, you only need to concentrate on grind and packing. Fully manual on/off type construction.
Negative Product Points
Slightly annoying drip tray, and after 8years the pump/group can only make one decent cup a day then something isn't right for the 2nd. But is is 8yrs continuous use
Detailed Commentary
This is a great 1st machine. Compact, easy and reliable. And you don't have to sell you car to buy it.
This machine has great styling and is compact. After 8years solid use it looks almost like the day I bought it. The drip tray is slightly annoying, but not a big problem really.
Cost wise its the middle of the road (around NZ$1000) and so you dont' have to sell the car or try to hard to convince your partner you NEED one. That can wait for your upgrade in 7-10yrs time.
Would recommend it to anyone wanting a home machine who's just starting out in coffee.
Buying Experience
Hummingbird in NZ are a great roaster/retailer of coffee, know them well and they are great. They have since moved away from La Pavoni for cost of parts reasons I gather.
