A beauty for those who enjoys the process as much as the drink
Positive Product Points
I have the copper/brass version, and it's an absolute beauty. People say: "Oh, it's lovely, but what is it?" :-).
Negative Product Points
It's a bit too light. The driptray might have been bigger (and please let the metal one be standard next time). The tamper is too small, and I wonder why its rounded in the bottom?
Detailed Commentary
Having read about the machine, I was sure it would take a long time to pull decent shots with this one. I was wrong. In fact, I haven't pulled a bad shot yet. The tricky part is pulling more than one shot. It means learning to switch machine off between shots, learning to raise the lever to remove the portafilter without the notorious Pavoni sneeze and cooling it before a second pull. But once you get to know it, you get to love it. A pull of freshly roasted old brown Sulawesi on the Pavoni sends you straight to espresso heaven.
