A true benchmark machine, this machine made Rancilio a lot of money since it was introduced in 1998 - it has become the standard against which all other consumer, single boiler machines are measured against. Currently in its 3rd revision.
Silviu Chitoiu (quality: 7.5)
Bottom Line: It's worth every penny
Joseph Tai (quality: 5.5)
Bottom Line: Great starter machine for 2 people household. Not the fastest or the prettiest, but she can be the most consistent and faithful espresso machine you can have :)
Garth Watson (quality: 1.0)
Bottom Line: Rancilio Silvia
Scott De Rozic
Bottom Line: Solid, learning curve to pour a credible shot
Steve Edelman (quality: 1.0)
Bottom Line: Avoid Ranchilio - Flawed construction
Bottom Line: If you want a machine that makes near perfect expresso or latte at a reasonnable price and that will last for a very long time , buy the Rancilla combo, you won't regret it.
Ed Lawless (quality: 9.0)
Bottom Line: Almost a brilliant machine - but what a major potiential weakness!! Buy it, but haggle hard as it is not quite as indestructable as the glossy brochures would have you believe.
Bottom Line: This machine truly is a commercial quality machine without a large footprint. I would buy again.
Bottom Line: Worth the money!
Bottom Line: Beatiful machine, exellent espresso, but regular steel base is prone to rust! Spill tray area is rusty after 3 years of heavy use. Seriously Rancilio????
Bottom Line: Good if you pre-heat your cup (water in microwave). Not quite hot enough otherwise.
Bottom Line: I joined the club.
Johnathan Sisson (quality: 6.7)
Bottom Line: Great starter machine! Though it will take a while to get used to.
Chris Clark (quality: 9.1)
Bottom Line: The Silvia is about patience and practice. If you have both in store, you're ready to go.
Ronald Fischer (quality: 8.0)
Bottom Line: Makes great espresso, slowly.
Jeff Evans (quality: 7.0)
Bottom Line: Looks cool.....makes killer espresso.....built solid!
Dwayne Primeau (quality: 0.7)
Bottom Line: Serious quality - well built - commercial grade. Requires desire to learn about proper extraction. With the right grind and technique - will provide better coffee than all but the best coffee shops
Bottom Line: The machine is okay but not worth the price. Would not buy an espresso maker on-line again.
Jennifer Cowles (quality: 5.5)
Bottom Line: A must have machine for the common household barista to make a killer latte to impress the friends and family. It's one step away from going commercial.
Stanley Wong (quality: 5.0)
Bottom Line: Great machine to learn Barista skills on. It will last and last. Not a good machine for multiple shots when entertaining.
