This is a good machine that does a good job. Not really any more then just good however.
Negative Product Points
I have never really been able to pull a really good shot with this machine. The Melitta takes some time to warm up and has trouble pulling one shot after another.
Detailed Commentary
This is a review of the Melitta Cafe Express. I have never been overly impressed with this product. It has served me well as an introduction into the world of espresso. One summer while at a language school in Vermont it did its job well providing caffeine to a group of us studying Chinese.
If you are looking for an economically cheap machine this is a good choice. The machine itself is well built(from the talk on alt.coffee the internal mechanics are the same as the higher end Saeco Via Veneto). If you have the resources go buy a better machine, but for those on a budget start here.

I bought this while Damark had it on sale. It was a great deal two years back.
