Well engineered, durable, attractive and reasonably priced
Positive Product Points
This is a practical, affordable, attractive and well engineered product without a lot of useless bells and whistles. It makes very good coffee and the fact that it brews into a thermal carafe means you can keep pouring from the pot for at least an hour - it doesn't ruin the brew by cooking it! The integral Brita water filter is a nice feature for those times of year when the municpal water source has inexplicable bad taste and odors.
Negative Product Points
I do wish I had the option of brewing more cups when they are needed - i.e. a bigger carafe.
Detailed Commentary
Frankly, I picked this unit out for its aesthetic value and was pleased to find that it is as functional as it is attractve. The unit stands head and shoulders above other drip coffee makers of similar price, especialy those sold by Cuisinart.
If you are looking for an affordable drip coffee maker, i would recommend this choice.
One of the nicest things is that the design provides very few places for grounds, brew or just water to accumulate. The parts that need cleaning can easily be removed and thrown in the dishwasher.
Also, the receptacle and gold filter are spring-loaded. Just touch a button and it swings away from the coffee maker for filling, cleaning or removal.
Nothing more to say really. This is practical, affordable, attractive and well engineered product without a lot of useless bells and whistles. It makes very good coffee and the fact that it brews into a thermal carafe means you can keep pouring from the pot for hours - it doesn't ruin the brew by cooking it!
