Detailed Commentary
Easy to set up and use this coffee maker. Fill guide easy to read as you add water to reservoir. Brew temperature is hot enough and built in water filter prevents scale from collecting within the coffee maker. I had doubts about the spring-loaded filter holder as it tended to pop open at the slightest touch. Has not opened while brewing but that remains a possibility.
Disappointed that quality of Braun products has declined so much over the years. The lid on this carafe tips open to pour. After using daily for three months, the lid broke into two pieces. Appears the pieces are glued together and there is no mechanical connection to keep them locked together. Glue gave out and the two halves separated. Can't repair it.
Buying Experience
Customer service at Williams Sonoma is always brisk but pleasant. They have agreed to replace this machine when I take it back.
Three Month Followup
Worked as expected. Decent coffee but not too hot.
One Year Followup
The replacement machine for the one I originally reviewed failed in the same manner as the original. The glue holding the two halves of the carafe lid failed and I had a useless coffeemaker on my hands. Avoid this product.
