BRAUN CUSTOMER SERVICE (Proctor and Gamble is the parent company)
Detailed Commentary
NOTE to all you competent Braun and Proctor and Gamble (the parent company) customer service representatives… this situation is surely a result of company policy and you must be embarrassed by the things you are forced to say to customers.
My Braun Tassimo single cup coffee maker broke after about three years (purchased in 2006)-- I put it aside for a while- and then finally took it to a Braun website endorsed authorized "service partner." The service partner called after about 10 days to say that they couldn't fix it and that the Braun number they called was not helpful. I assumed that the actual customer would have better luck, so I called Braun Customer Service and got a pleasant sounding female representative. I explained my situation. Round 1: She said to take it to another service partner. I asked: Why is the one I used listed on your website, if it wasn't a "good" one? Round 2: She said to pick it up from the service partner and then call Braun back to troubleshoot. I said that if the experienced, authorized service partner couldn't fix it, why would she think that I could? Round 3: She told me that since the machine was four years old, Braun couldn't replace it. I said that it was my intention to pay to have it fixed, but (by the way) is four years too old for a Braun appliance? Is it not supposed to work after four years? Round 4: She said she would send me a 'discount coupon' for a new Braun coffee maker (they don't make Tassimo anymore). So I said, why would I want another Braun appliance when Braun can’t even fix this one? Is this planned obsolescence?
I was willing to pay for repair- never asked for anything for free- but fixing it was not an option Braun could offer. Apparently, customer satisfaction was not an option either. Oh! Back to the phone call-- I did ask for a supervisor when I got those answers from the original representative… Went through everything again…The supervisor offered the same ‘solutions.’ I asked to speak to the president of the company,(what did I have to lose?) but she remained silent at that request. Bottom line: Buy anything but a Braun.
