Detailed Commentary
I normally brew with a press pot and one of the things I love about the press is my coffee is HOT. Being tired of the clean-up and wanting to make my morning routine easier, I decided to check out a Bunn. Besides, I had read some good reviews on this site so it seemed like a good idea.
I used my 30% off coupon and got a great deal from Kohl's. I went home, prepped the machine per the instruction booklet, added the toothpick modification to the brew head (used three) and was ready to roll. I brewed my first pot and waited with eager anticipation. I poured the first cup and noticed it was light colored but the taste was all that matter. I must say--I was so disappointed. The coffee was thin, lacked substance, and worst of all, it was lukewarm. My old Cuisinart brewed better than that. Well, I thought perhaps I didn't let the water in the tank warm for long enough so I waited an hour and brewed another pot. Same results--a lukewarm coffee-like substance. Yuk!
I emailed Bunn and they suggested I check the temperature output with a digital thermometer. I decided I didn't want to mess with it though and returned the coffee maker. What a disappointment.
