174 degree brew temp. I didn't test the temp when brand new, but the machine is less than two years old, so it's not satisfactory. Bunn customer service basically offered no help even in diagnosing problem due to it being just about two years old.
Detailed Commentary
Basically, before the coffee bug bit me, and folgers was "the good stuff" to me, this machine worked fine. Once I discovered non grocery store beans through Mayorga, I began the quick upward spiral to coffee fascination. I have been using my presspot since, but have wanted to get a swissgold filter for the Bunn, but once I checked the temp, I realized this would not be feasible. Unless they get the brew temp somewhere near proper, I absolutely wouldn't recomend this product. Take your money somewhere that you can test the machine before you bring it home, or someone who has a good return policy, that doesn't zing you on shipping when you return an inadequate product. Then pick out the machine with the features you like, then test brew temp where it goes into the basket. Target has a digital kitchen thermometer that works great for this, and cooking turkeys. Have I made it to 500 charachters yet?
