great, except of course for that fire thing........
Negative Product Points
bye bye house and belongings. I am annoyed at their unwillingness to send a new unit, as you can probably tell
Detailed Commentary
This seemed like the ideal coffee maker to me, until the recall. Now I am not sure I would ever buy another Bunn. A company is known by the after sale service it provides, and I am not a happy camper with how Bunn is handling this. While it is true they are willing to pay for postage to send my unit back for repairs it still means I must use/buy another coffee maker while mine is being repaired. Stupid plan Bunn.....did it dawn on you that once I use another coffee maker I might not really care so much about yours and the trouble it has cost me?
Buying Experience
I bought this at a department store, which ordinarilly I wouldn't do, preferring to buy from real coffee supply houses. It was on sale and the price matched what I had seen online so I purchased it.
Three Month Followup
This product is under voluntary recall because the plastic bowl and lid might melt or ignite! Bunn is only paying for repairs to the item or giving a 50% discount off a different model, which seems lousy to me because I have owned this unit for less than a year and believe they should simply replace it, period!
One Year Followup
I tossed the Bunn in the trash, unhappy with their refusal to simply replace the machine instead of making me ship it back (yes, yes, at their expense, but who has time to be running around like that?). I have recently bought a Keurig, which is probably considered a faux pas on this site, but I have to admit that I love it, and that it does all that the Bunn did in terms of very quick coffee, hot water when needed for tea, with none of the potential disaster attached to it.
