I always liked the speed of Bunomatics. By keeping a tank of hot water on board, the Bunomatic is ready to brew as soon as you add water. 12 cups in 3 minutes rather than the 6-8 most coffee makers require.
When I first used this coffee maker, however, I found that the coffee lacked the flavor of the Braun, Krupps, and even Black & Decker machines I used previously. This was partially remedied by adding extra grinds, but then i found that the extra grinds backed up the filter and water flooded over the basket and on to the countertop and floor.
I checked with Bunn, and they may a free attachment that slows the water flow and that stopped the flooding problem. Still, the extra coffee needed and lack of rich taste kept me from feeling good about this purchase. Also, the carafe does not keep the coffee hot for very long, even if it is preheated with hot water.
After just under 2 years, it shorted out and died. This, it turns out, is a relief and frees me up to get a machine that brews better tasting coffee, if a bit more slowly than the Bunn. |
