This unit seems to have been well constructed. To date I've not had any problems with it. I like the fact that you don't have to pour water into it but rather can just drop the removable reservoir in and you're set. The way the filter basket holder pops out classifies it as a cool gadget which is always a good thing. I like the fact that I can have frothed milk available without the clean-up process being too involved. If you're not into reading the manual just view the short, well-made how-to video that is included.
Negative Product Points
The price did seem a bit much but when you consider that the frothing mechanism adds a lot of complexity to what would otherwise be a plain drip coffee maker I guess it's worth it. The only other negative point is that because of the design of the removable reservoir I must pull the unit out from under the kitchen cabinet to get to the reservoir. This is a factor for those of us with small, poorly designed kitchens. When you factor in the $10,000 it'll cost me to revamp the kitchen this unit becomes quite pricey! (Just kidding of course!)
Detailed Commentary
Overall I am very pleased with the purchase of this product. If I had to it do over again I would. I don't think I would ever consider the purchase of a traditional coffee maker with the heating element under the carafe again. Before I got this unit I was making relatively small pots of coffee so that the last cup from the pot would have a hint of freshness to it. Even that wasn't working. With the CoffeeTEK I can enjoy a good cup of coffee even if it's the last one out of the thermal carafe. The frothed milk is an improvement in texture and taste to simply adding cold milk.
Buying Experience
I normally make most of my purchases on the web but I didn't have much luck finding this at a price below what I found it at retail. I got tired of searching and just went to the manufacturers web site to find the nearest retail location.
