Very fast brew cycle, solidly built, pleasing to the eye. Short of manual brewing, this machine makes a great pot of coffee!
Negative Product Points
Inability to sneak a cup during brew cycle is vexing. However, it brews a pot quickly so I don't feel the need to sneak. Height of machine with water well lid open is almost two feet tall.
Detailed Commentary
When I get up in the morning there are TWO things on my mind. One of those things is relevant to this discussion: a quick, tasty, quick, bold, and did I mention FAST cup of JAVA! Our previous machine, a Krups Aroma Control, died last week. RIP! I would probably rate it a 6 out of 10. It lasted three years, made decent coffee, and allowed me to sneak a cup during the brew cycle. At least I thought the coffee was decent until I tried this baby!
I was hesitant to purchase this machine because of several people's negative experiences. However, I decided to take a chance. I purchased it from a local Williams Sonoma, knowing they would take it back with no hassles should any probems arise. Make sure you follow the directions, which are pretty simple. Run a pot or two of cold water through it, pop in the charcoal filter, and voila! According to the company, the filter will get rid of 84% of chlorine! Thus far the coffee tastes like it is made from bottled water. We have limited kitchen counter space available, and this machine does require more space than your typical coffee machine. Overall, the coffee is tasty, the machine runs great, cleanup is a snap, and it brews a full pot of coffee in roughly six minutes! I highly recommend this fine machine.
