I had my first unit for about five years and while cleaning it.. I shorted out the LED. So I bought a Technivorm to replace it. I really could not tell any difference with the Technivorm. So I bought the latest Capresso (with LCD display) and did a side by side taste test. Again, no taste difference. I could tell the difference between using a gold filter VS paper though. So I returned the Technivorm and have been very happy with my new Capresso. The new Capresso seems to be a bit hotter off the grounds and the new thermal pot keeps hot much longer than the old. The larger pot opening is MUCH easier to clean. My old Capress came back to life after a week...
