Detailed Commentary

I purchased this coffee maker slightly on a whim from a coffee store that was closing.  I don't usually make drip coffee and I wanted some way to make larger quantities of coffee if I have guests over.  Bonus points for style too.  Most of the cheap drip coffee makers that I have used don't heat the water hot enough.  This is not be a problem with the Chemex.
After using the Chemex, I feel it makes coffee as well as my french press.  The filtering process makes a nice clear mellow coffee.
I would not advise getting the brown filters as they impart a cardboard taste to the coffee. Visit any chemistry lab and try to find brown filters. Chemists use bleached paper filters for a reason.

Buying Experience

I had a good experience buying this product.
