Disappointing, fustrating, infuriating. Not a machine to last years and years making great coffee.
Positive Product Points
If it worked, you set up coffee the night before and wake up to a hot pot in the morning.
Negative Product Points
Poor construction, poor design, not cheap, coffee not strong.
Detailed Commentary
We were replacing an older (5 years?) fully automated Capresso coffee maker that has started to die. The CoffeeTeam Therm looked like a promising replacement, but after 3 weeks including a replacement unit sent from Capresso, we gave up. On the first unit, the basket would not swing under the grinder all the way leaving grounds on the counter and producing weak coffee. Sometimes, it would swing back and not run the water through the grounds (disappointing). This could have been due to pilot error, but if so, it was never clear what we were doing wrong to cause this. Sometimes, the coffee chute from the grinder to the filter basket would jam up (due to poor desing) and not enough grounds would make it into the basket resulting in a weak brew (fustrating). On the second unit, the basket would not swing back under the water drip all the way and we woke up to water all over the counter and floor (infuriating). On both units, the coffee was not as strong as we like despite putting the grinder and the drip on the highest settings. We worked around this by putting the settings on 10 cups and only putting in 8 cups of H20.
For this price, we expect a solid machine that will last for years. It was evident this wasn't it, so after 3 weeks we gave up and returned the unit. To their credit, Capresso promptly sent a replacement unit when we contacted them and Williams-Sonoma took the returned unit with no hassles once we gave up on it.
