Great retro look. Affordable. Excellent brew. 3 year warranty. You absolutely cannot go wrong here.
Positive Product Points
The retro look is a winner. 12 cup carafe has yet to spill. On/Off toggle switch. 3 temperature settings for the plate. Gold filter included. Pop-top on carafe is unique, I like it. Easy to clean. Beeping sound when finished or about to turn off. Easy to program. Visitors see it and ask about it. 3 year warranty!
Negative Product Points
Not easy to see water level in reservoir, better to measure with carafe. Clock isn't the best, but oh well there's 3 other clocks in the kitchen.
Detailed Commentary
The Brew Central is a bargain, brews an excellent cup of coffee and looks great doing it. That is what I have read in other reviews here and all I can say is that they are 100% correct. I have had the unit for a little over two months now and decided it's time for my own review.
Like everyone else, I was eager to make a pot and the setup was quick and easy. I am not one who needs all of the elaborate settings but they are available and easy to use. My favourite would probably be the heat settings for the warmer plate. With everything ready I filled the reservoir to what would give me two mugs of brew with my favourite flavour, Mackinaw Island Fudge.
After a few minutes i heard a beeping from the kitchen that it was finished, that is a nice addition. The first cup was a real eye opener, the same grounds actually tasted as good as they smelled. It's obvious that it is brewed at a hotter temperature and judging by the grounds in the filter, the shower really covers them well.
Cleaning up is easy, after I was finished I popped the top of the unit about an inch and let it dry out and cool down. Later on I tossed out the filter without any mess and washed the carafe.
Since then I have yet to brew a bad cup of coffee. I wish I bought the Brew Central years ago. I rated this product 10s across the board except usability, that gets a 9 due to the reservoir design which is good but not great.
Buying Experience
For Xmas, my parents bought me a coffeemaker, but before using it I found this site and noticed it had many bad reviews. I then discovered the Brew Central which is exactly what I wanted, a high quality machine for a good price. It seems everyone in my family just gets cheap coffeemakers and convinced me that more expensive brews were just a waste of money. WROOONGGG! What a difference and now they want one.
I picked it up a mile away at Sears for $69 and returned the other model.
