no matter how many cups I make or how many scoops of beans I use the end result is the same. I use good beans and grind them just before using. We use the 14 cup version at work and it makes excellent coffee but I do not need that many cups at home and bought the12 cup version and am very disappointed. I have made anywhere from 4 cups to 12 cups with the same result. I have even pushed the 1-4 cup button when makeing 12 cups and it still comes out thin even with espresso beans. The 14 cup version takes longer to brew so maybe gets the water hotter this one brews fairly quick. Believe me I have went through many beans trying to fiquire this one out to come out perfect or at least good. Even tried with gold filter, without gold filter, brown filter bags, etc.
