Detailed Commentary
We loved the idea of a machine that would grind its own beans just before brewing, and do all that just before we woke up in the morning. Imagine having the sound of the grinder be your alarm clock! Wake up to that, take another few minutes zzz time, and stagger to the kitchen for a cup of fresh coffee. This machine does all that ... IF you're willing to spend quite a while learning to use it, and quite a while preparing it each evening, and IF you don't care how weak the coffee is. No matter how much coffee you use, it tastes like weak restaurant coffee. You can see right through it to the bottom of the cup. No way to adjust the grind, either: "coarse" is where it's at. In the end we gave this machine to my sister, who loves good gadgets but isn't supposed to drink coffee anyway. Weak coffee's ok with her.
