The design of the coffee pot is flawed. The grinder is too close to the water, so water and heat and get in the grinder. The grinder is (not matter when you last brewed) is always moist. The mftr says - you have to clean the grinder out every time for it to work properly.
I have had numerous times when it: 1) spilled grinds all over the counter and interior of the machine and didn't put the grounds in the basket 2) the grinder is too close to the water and heat and is always moist so beans and grinds stay in there 3) has poured coffee all over the floor and counter
bottom line...worst coffee machine ever made. If you want to clean the grinder EVERY time buy this one.

Overstock won't take back. Mftr doesn't care, so the 3 year warranty must be lie.
